Introduction
So, you want to be a project manager? Excellent career choice for the well organized and highly motivated individual. You will find this career very challenging and very rewarding. As a project manager you will run into new experiences everyday. How would you solve the problem of delays in your supply chain? What would you say to contractors that are causing scheduling problems because they are over committed on another project? How would you feel when you look at the completed project that you were in charge of building? It is true that this job can create a lot of stress, but it can also create a great sense of pride when all of your work pays off. If you love to work with teams and you are a take charge type of leader, then project management could be the career choice for you!
Information that you may have to handle!!
As a project manager, you will be neck deep in paperwork :-) well, maybe just waste deep! There will be progress reports, invoices, email, blueprints and AutoCad drawings, meeting notes, status reports, and a slew of different inquiries that you will need to have access to and be able to respond to in a timely manner. But don't worry, modern technology can help you stay on top of that paper mountain. Devices like the IPad and the IPhone keep you in the loop even when you are on the road or out at the job site. These smart devices allow you to have an office away from the office. With all the different apps that are available you can stay up to speed with whatever the day may throw at you!

What Projects do Project Managers work on?
Where can a project manager job take you? Good question. The fact of the matter is that project managers oversee a variety of ventures that range from an office building, a nuclear power plant, to a bridge, or a new product line that is being introduced by a corporation. A project manager was used when the Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the world at over 2700ft) was erected in Dubai.
Project managers can also be involved in reconstruction after disasters. After the tsunami that struck Japan in March of 2011, much of the infrastructure of that country was destroyed, including this power plant that was still burning several days later. It will have to be rebuilt, and a project manager will be required to oversee and manage the reconstruction of this facility.
